Profile of Vraj Vihar Haveli

The Haveli has its presiding deity in the Lord Dhwarkadeeshji, whose idol in the sanctum sanctorum is said to be about 300 years old and is carved out of black marble. The benign idol can be properly viewed even from a large distance and from every corner of the darshan hall. The darshan hall can accommodate seating of 300 devotees, a generous feature which provides peaceful atmosphere as the devotees can have darshan from wherever they are in the hall. The simple yet majestic idol of Lord Dhwarkadeeshji seems to look benignly upon its devotees and the devotee carries along with him great satisfaction of darshan. The backdrop and the surroundings of the idol come out resplendent in colours of devotion and joy on festival days, when careful arrangements are made for smooth conduct of the Haveli,, for the benefit of thousands of devotees. Special attention is paid to the old, infirm and children.

The Haveli has a large paved countryard which can accommodate about 500 devotees. At one end of this courtyard is a replica of the holy mount of ‘Girirajji’ that appears to transpose the devotees to the exalted lands of Gokul, Mathura & Brindavan right here in Mumbai.
